The exquisite little Pink Robin breeds in moist, dense rainforest throughout Tasmania and the wetter parts of Victoria and far south eastern New South Wales from September to March. The female is fed by the male while she incubates and broods the young. In winter, they are found in more open and drier habitats. Their nest is a deep cup of green moss, bound with spiders' webs, lined with fine soft grass, fern or fur.
