Tips and Techniques to develop confidence in depicting birds and nature using various Pencils, Pencil & Wash, Pen and Watercolour. From beginners to experienced artists, individual tuition aimed at improving identification skills and understanding of birds and natural objects.

High-lights for me were good sightings of a male Mistletoe Bird feasting on Midjinberry (also known as Midyim). Austromyrtus dulcis is a small scrambling shrub with round, pale blue-grey fruits. The female Mistletoe Bird was close by her mate, but kept her presence well hidden. Daily we were entranced by the aerial activities of honey-eaters, (especially Scarlet Honey-eaters) in the Banksias, Eucalypts and Paperbarks just near our accommodation. A hike to Indian Head yielded great views of a Nankeen Kestral that sat for fifteen minutes only eight metres away.

It wasn't just looking at birds. Presentations by experts included wader identification and a host of other fascinating subjects.
